Elite Squad jumps out early, holds onto 14u Fall WS title

EMERSON, Ga. – Elite Squad Prime 2022 defeated Kangaroo Court Roos by a score of 3-1 to capture a victory in the PG 14u Fall World Series Championship.

Elite Squad got out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Giovanny Cueto and Justin Colon both reached base on back-to-back singles to lead off the game and they would both later score on an error.

Kangaroo Court Roos would answer back with a run of their own in the top of the fourth inning as Cade Kurland scampered home on a wild pitch.

Elite Squad would get that run back in the bottom half of the inning as Sal Stewart drove home Colon with a two-out double to deep right-center field. That 3-1 score would remain as Elite Squad would get excellent relief pitching from Giovanny Cueto to close out the game.

Logan Forsythe got the starting nod on the mound for Elite Squad and he pitched very well, tossing four innings with three strikeouts while allowing only one run.

The MVP of the PG 14u Fall World Series was Michael Quevedo of Elite Squad who batted 5-10 (.500) for the tournament with two doubles, 2 RBI, and a pair of stolen bases.
